With the Snowmageddon over on Wednesday, half the streets in DC were still not plowed. Walking around town on Friday, I saw 3 city buses stuck in the snow, one was just burning rubber trying to get unstuck, and two others turned to sharply and got stuck on a snow bank. Why are people here so dumb? Later that night, two boys from California who have never previously lived in the snow got two cars out of a rut, one being a JEEP!! How are we more prepared for the snow than Washingtonians?

Not much has happened in a productive sense for the majority of the time left void between blogs. We have had like 4 snow storms, coined the Snowpacolypse by Obummer, so the city has shut down, including public transportation. Anticipating this, I stayed with Kayvan in DC, so at least I could see things/have fun/party. But on Monday, I ran out of clean clothes, and the bus finally reopened its routes, so I went back to MD, and then Snowzilla proceeded to continue to take a dump on us, so now I am stuck in my apt. getting cabin fever, and going to the gym.
I did start working at the Peace Corps, a good 3 days of it. The people are really nice (working with all women) , very helpful, and excited to have another helping hand. Everything I work with is confidential, so I cant say much, but it is a lot of fun/interesting/informing working there. I feel like a badass with my security badge, dressing up in a tie, and working with confidential files. But this has been short lived, like I mentioned earlier, since the Federal Gov't has been closed for 5 work days now. Here is a picture I took on the way to work. It snowed that night, but was mostly melted by 2pm.

Being stuck in DC was great. Kayvan and I participated in a huge snowball fight at Dupont Circle, which actually made national news! We also went sledding down staircases, make snow angels, and consume beverages that made us warm.
Here is a video I made to update my fraternity brothers. It sums up everything that has happened since I last blogged.
If anybody is down to come visit, you should come April 6th when the Warriors will be in town to embarrass the Wizards.

Arrived in the Nation's Capital
Hello to all the people that follow my blog, population 0. Haha, but I am sure that more people will be following fairly soon, most likely family and friends. I am not very good at blogging, as you can see in my previous posts. But I am going to try and keep up with what I am doing here.
To start out my journey to the East, I had to fly out of SJC at 6:30AM. As I was checking in, I saw Jerry Rice in the distance. That was about all the excitement on that leg of the trip.
When I got to Phoenix airport to change planes, I had an hour layover, so I got some breakfast and reserved a spot on an airport van for when I got to BWI. As I was doing that, I heard from people all around about what they are going to do, since all flights were canceled after 10:30am. I definitely lucked out, since my flight was AT 10:30. The flight wasn't too bad, but nothing is after taking the flight to Australia 6 times. And, I was prepared and brought my SWA drink tickets with me. NO airlines is better that SWA: They have 2 free 50 lbs. check bags, they give you a free ticket after 4 are booked, and they send you complimentary drink tickets in the mail. I mean, what other airlines are you going to pay $5 for a cross country trip, with 2 checked bags, and cocktails the whole way there? I would rather do that then pay $140 for a ticket, and $20 for each bag checked on Virgin America, although they do have wifi, food to order, and mood lighting....
The apartment I am living at is really nice. It is really new and clean, with a nice kitchen, heating, wifi, two bedroom two bath, washer and dryer in the apt., a balcony, and an HD TV! We are supposed to have two people to a room, but so far, we have not had anyone come, so it is just me and one other guy having our own room and own bathroom. My roommate Matt is from the University of Calgary. He is really cool, and we have been getting along since day one. He is just as big as a nerd as I am. You would think talking American politics wouldn't work with a Canadian, but he was telling me how Canadians know more about American politics than Canadian politics. Very weird.
The first full day I had here in DC we had orientation. It was pretty weird, we met at one location, and then we were told to meet at the Freer Gallery of Art for a scavenger hunt. We broke into teams of 4 and 5, and had to fill out an info sheet. The event was more of a bonding time with our group, than it was about completing the sheet. My group members were from Baltimore, Scranton, Calgary, and Pittsburgh. They thought it was funny how I was complaining about the cold weather, and the Canadian, Vincent, and I got a lesson on east coast slang, like how they call the beach the shore, there is minimal surf, Guidos and Guidettes, etc.
That night, I met up with Kayvan, my friend from Palo Alto, and we pregamed before going out to the bars in Chinatown. We met up with Sam, my friend from SDSU, and the new friends I met at orientation. It was a great night out, with some Karaoke, and $5 liters of beer. After the bar closed, we went to get empeƱadas, a Chilean snack, which topped off the night.
Other than Friday, the other days I have been here have been low key, shopping, hanging with my roommate, etc. Needless to say, I wont be blogging on a daily schedule, but whenever something exciting happens, something that will be interesting to read. Oh, and once I get my camera battery, there will be pictures, too!

Spring Training

For the third year in a row, Zack and I went to Scottsdale for a weekend of ray and ball catching. This time Max came out with us in our adventure.

It was a great break from school and pledging, very relaxing just laying out in the sun watching the Giants. This year we not only went to games at Scottsdale Stadium, but also saw the Giants play at Diablo Stadium in Tempe, just across the freeway from Scottsdale. I must say, Scottsdale Stadium is way better!

I am going to be bummed somewhat that I won't be able to go next year, but studying in Italia sounds pretty good too....

Worlds Best Snow
It all started with some trashtalk to Loodle about how the Aztecs were hella better than the Utes, and they started out the season that way. But as usual, they got into a slump, had some key players get suspended, and started loosing winable games. Anyways, this trip was built around going to the State basketball game in SLC. It was a fun-packed weekend, getting there on friday at 2am and leaving Monday noon.
On Friday, Erin, Larken and I went up to Sundance to get some boarding in. It was Larken's
first time (which is retarded because Sundance is in her backyard!) She did pretty well for her first time, and with terrible teachers. It was unusually warm on the slopes, and the snow was beautiful.

Saturday was the game. I swear i was one of like 2 state fans. Got a lot of mormons mad! it was great. It actually turned out to be a close game, a lot closer than i thought it would have been. SLC knows how to put butts in their seats,, the place was packed. Later that night Loodle and Yarken and I went to Erin's choir concert, which was a very good choir, unlike the women's choir, haha. that night Matt and I got hyphy at a choir party.
On Sunday, Loodle, Erin and I hit the slopes again at Brighton. Another great day of boarding, good snow, but this time it was quite cold. Laura was a lot better the Larken, but Laura goes a lot more, so no offense Yark. After the day in the snow, we soaked our muscles and privates in Matt's hot tub, i shaved my beard into a filthy stache, met up with Greg and went to a Brazilian grill, which was HELLSA GOOD. After dinner we went back to Matt's pad and got krunk, played some Beruit, drank, drunk, and sexed.
